Red Hook sets Aug. 11 hearing on sale or CPF acquisition of 8.55 acres of Water District land

The Red Hook Town Board on June 24 set a public hearing for Aug. 11, 2026 at 7:35 p.m. to hear public comment on the proposed disposition of vacant Water District No. 1 parcels and on a concurrent proposal for the Town to acquire those parcels using Community Preservation Fund (CPF) moneys.
Resolution No. 32 describes the parcels as collectively approximately 8.55 acres and lists addresses and 2025 assessed values: Aspinwall Cir (3.2 acres, assessed $60,100), 47 Albie Rd (2.0 acres, $57,700), Aspinwall Rd (1.80 acres, $60,100), 12 Chestnut St (0.63 acres, $34,800), and an Aspinwall Rd parcel (0.92 acres, $39,500). The resolution cites Town Law §198(12) governing disposition of improvement-district property and instructs the Town Clerk to publish notice between July 22 and Aug. 1, 2026.
The resolution directs referral of the proposed CPF acquisition to the CPF Advisory Committee for review and rating under program criteria, with receipts from any conveyance to be credited to the Water District.
