Enumclaw City Council approved Resolution 18-79 on May 26, enacting a set of fee schedule changes for Parks Department programs and cemetery services and aligning school impact fees with an automatic CPI adjustment.
Parks and Recreation Director Alina Hibbs outlined two proposals, including a lower-cost two-day-a-week option for the aquatic swim-team program intended to increase affordability for participants; staff said the existing three‑day program is priced at $276 and recommended adding a two‑day alternative. Hibbs also explained changes to cemetery pricing: several mausoleum facing niches are sold out and the resolution updates pricing for remaining alcove niches and other lot categories to reflect operational and maintenance cost increases and reduced availability.
Finance/administration staff (Chris) noted the fee resolution includes a 3.1% school impact fee adjustment tied to the Consumer Price Index for the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area and that the change was already implemented April 1; the city will evaluate the school district’s capital facilities plan when it is approved by the school board and may revisit the fee policy if warranted.
Council moved, seconded and passed the resolution by voice vote. The resolution was placed on the consent/regular agenda after staff and committee review; staff noted some cemetery items were forwarded to full council because the cemetery board lacked quorum to meet.
