Marble Cliff council adopts 2026 appropriations, approves 3.5% raises for fiscal staff and new landscape contract

The Village of Marble Cliff council on Dec. 15 adopted year-2026 appropriations, approved a 3.5% pay increase for the Fiscal Officer and Assistant Fiscal Officer and authorized a three-year landscape maintenance contract.

Council entered an executive session to discuss compensation for the Fiscal Officer and Assistant Fiscal Officer; the motion to enter was made by Council Member Kendy A. Troiano and seconded by Matthew R. Jolson, and the roll call vote recorded Voelker, Jolson, Sarna, Taylor, Troiano and Thomas voting yes. After the executive session, council approved O-2736-25 to authorize a 3.5% salary increase for both the Fiscal Officer and Assistant Fiscal Officer. Troiano moved to approve the salary ordinance and Jolson seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

Council also approved O-2735-25, the 2026 appropriations ordinance, by unanimous vote. Separately, Council suspended the rules and approved O-2739-25, authorizing a three-year agreement with Environmental Management, Inc. for landscape maintenance and seasonal leaf collection.

Mayor Cincione presented O-2738-25, a one-year contract for professional legal services with Frost Brown Todd, LLC, for a second reading; O-2737-25, a sanitary sewer service agreement with the City of Columbus, was presented for its third reading but no final council action on those items was recorded in the transcript.

What happens next: the fiscal office will implement the adopted appropriations and the pay changes, and staff will administer the landscape contract and return to council with any required implementation updates.
