Council adopts truck and overweight-vehicle ordinances, approves routine motions

At its Jan. 15 meeting the Magnolia Village Council voted unanimously to adopt two traffic ordinances on third reading. Jim Miller moved to adopt Res. 2025-4 (339.01 Oversize or Overweight Vehicle Operation on State Routes; State Permit) with Scott Noble seconding; the motion carried with "All Ayes." Claudia Rogers moved to adopt Res. 2025-3 (339.02 No Through Trucks) with Eric White seconding; that motion also passed unanimously.
Council also voted to sign an LPA right-of-way certification with the Ohio Department of Transportation (Res. 2025-2) to proceed with a planned sidewalk project; the motion was moved by Scott Noble and seconded by Jim Miller and passed with "All Ayes." Routine administrative motions passed without opposition: a motion to excuse Grant Downes (mover: Kurt Stanley; seconder: Scott Noble), acceptance of the Dec. 18, 2024 minutes (mover: Kurt Stanley; seconder: Eric White), acceptance of the Fiscal Officer's report (mover: Kurt Stanley; seconder: Claudia Rogers), authorization to pay the presented bills (mover: Jim Miller; seconder: Scott Noble), and a motion to adjourn at 8:50 p.m. (mover: Kurt Stanley; seconder: Eric White).
