Marble Cliff council approves ordinance to seek OPWC funds for Cambridge Boulevard improvements

The Council of the Village of Marble Cliff on July 21 unanimously approved Ordinance O-2732-25, authorizing Mayor Matthew P. Cincione to apply for Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) financial assistance for the Cambridge Boulevard improvement project and to retain Burgess & Niple, Inc. as consultant.
Village Engineer Caleb Zmith said the Cambridge Boulevard plans are at 90% completion and recommended additional internal and public meetings to finalize details. "Preliminary calculations suggest that we should score well in our request for funding," Zmith told council as he described next steps and a likely fall open house for public review.
Council President Dow T. Voelker moved to approve the ordinance on its third reading; Council Member Kendy A. Troiano seconded. The motion passed unanimously by the four members present. After the vote Zmith left the meeting.
Zmith also briefed council on related infrastructure work. He reported a mill-and-fill quote of $45,000 for Roxbury Road and asked council for guidance on how to proceed; he said sidewalk leveling and repair work is planned and that a CCTV inspection of sewers along Dublin Road has been scheduled. Zmith said Columbus Sanitary has requested a meeting to review the village's 1994 agreement and possible updates, and noted that the MS4 storm permit is up for renegotiation.
Zmith reported that the Packard development had painted over parking lines in a fire lane and still needs to post appropriate signage and repair a sewer drain; council did not record a formal penalty at the meeting.
The ordinance does not specify a funding award amount; council authorized the mayor to seek OPWC assistance and to engage the consultant to complete the application and related work. No effective date was provided at the meeting.
