Marble Cliff discusses Cambridge Boulevard condition and seeks OPWC funding

Mayor Matthew P. Cincione said he, village staff and two council members reviewed the updated planning deck from Burgess & Niple and REALM and suggested hosting an open house at Village Hall in the fall to present the plans to residents. Village Engineer Caleb Zmith told the council the pavement on Cambridge Boulevard is in worse condition than expected, which could strengthen grant and funding opportunities. Zmith said he is investigating whether old trolley rails might remain under the street, noted that GIS features for the village should be ready for the website soon, and listed upcoming work including storm drain repairs, removal of parking stripes at The Packard, sidewalk-quote gathering, and AEP activity on 5th Avenue.
Council received notice that O-2732-25, an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to seek financial assistance from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the Cambridge Boulevard Improvement Project and authorizing Burgess & Niple, Inc. to assist, was at second reading; no vote was recorded at this meeting. Council members discussed administrative next steps and public engagement options for the project.
The council did not take a final vote on OPWC funding at this meeting; staff and council will proceed with grant-seeking and public outreach steps described in the engineer’s and mayor’s reports.
