Byram Council approves ordinances on fire-department membership and stormwater control; passes consent agenda including ARP allocation

Votes and procedure: Motions to approve the consent agenda, bill list and ordinances were moved by Councilwoman Franco and seconded by Councilman Proctor; recorded votes show unanimous approval by Councilwoman Franco, Councilman Gallagher, Councilman Proctor, Councilman Roseff and Mayor Rubenstein.
Items introduced for future consideration: An ordinance to authorize a capital expenditure for self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for the fire department (not to exceed $25,000) and a rewrite of Chapter 136 (Flood Damage Prevention) were introduced and scheduled for final consideration on Oct. 1, 2024.
No additional public action was taken on these introduced ordinances at this meeting.
