Byram council hears potential $1.275M police CDS request and fire SCBA need; capital ordinance to follow if grant not awarded

On fire funding, Township Manager Joseph Sabatini relayed a request from Fire Chief Rudloff for 28 SCBA cylinders at $1,205.60 each (total $19,289.60) to be requested through an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG). Sabatini said the cylinders "will still need to be purchased even if they do not receive the AFG grant" and that he will work with Chief Rudloff and introduce a capital ordinance at a future meeting to provide for the purchase if needed.
Next steps: Staff will pursue CDS conversations with federal offices and prepare a capital-ordinance proposal related to the SCBA cylinders for council consideration at a subsequent meeting.
