First Selectman Flanagan called the special meeting to order at 11:16 a.m. at Town Hall. Selectman Brett moved that “roller, loader, backhoe, and grader” be removed from the list of equipment the position would be expected to operate; Selectman Kearcher seconded the motion and the board voted in favor.
Board members said the change reflects the reality of the position’s duties and aligns the written description with the posted hourly rate of pay. The board also noted the document could be revised again in the future if the town needs the position to operate additional equipment.
The action followed a review of the adopted job description with a union representative; the meeting minutes record the representative’s involvement in recommending the change but do not quote the representative verbatim. The minutes list three selectmen as present (Brett participated by phone) and the town secretary, and the meeting was adjourned at 11:28 a.m.
The Selectmen did not record any amendments to the motion; the change will be reflected in the town’s personnel records and the posted job announcement going forward.
