Somerset board approves payment for pump station upgrades, abatement and an appointment

At its June 3 meeting the Somerset Board of Water & Sewer Commissioners approved several administrative motions by unanimous roll‑call votes.
The board voted to accept the April 30, 2026 minutes and to table the May 6 and May 20, 2026 minutes. Clerk Robert E. Lima moved and Vice‑Chairman Joseph Bednarik Jr. seconded both motions; roll‑call votes were Bednarik, Lima and Chairman Steven Cadorette — all in favor.
The board approved a one‑time lifetime sewer abatement for Messa Anselmo of 9 Eddy Lane for 106,000 gallons and a related infrastructure fee totaling $989.67; the motion was seconded and carried by roll‑call vote. The board also approved and signed Department of Environmental Protection CWP‑23‑31 Payment Requisition No. 2 for Project No. CWSRF‑8360 in the amount of $720,538 for the Five Wastewater Pump Station Upgrades Project.
Clerk Lima moved to appoint Trent Butler as Administrative Assistant Water & Sewer — Finance, contingent upon successful salary negotiations with the Town Administrator; the motion was seconded and approved by roll‑call. Finally, at 5:58 p.m. the board voted unanimously to enter executive session under M.G.L. c.30A §21(a)(7) and §21(a)(2) to approve executive session minutes and conduct strategy sessions for nonunion negotiations for the superintendent; the meeting was set to adjourn in executive session.
