By voice vote the board retroactively adopted Resolution 2025‑11 requesting an amendment to CDBG contract C000082287 because the deadline for the amendment fell between meetings. Commissioners then discussed three liquid‑fuel allocation requests: Grove Township ($5,000), Lumber Township ($27,796.98) and Portage Township ($5,000). The board approved Grove’s $5,000 request and Portage’s $5,000 request and tabled Lumber Township’s larger request pending a breakdown separating winter‑maintenance costs from a motor replacement.
The board also approved Resolution 2025‑12 certifying the county’s provision of local match for quarterly allocations to the area transportation authority for fiscal 2026–27. Commissioners accepted a $40,427 juvenile‑probation services grant to offset salaries for juvenile probation officers and the chief probation officer.
Earlier the salary board approved a 2% cost‑of‑living adjustment for county employees; the commissioners said the wage increase will cost the county less than $45,000 in wages and FICA combined. Treasurer noted November expenses will be reported at the Dec. 18 meeting and the board has a special meeting scheduled Dec. 30 to adopt the budget.
Motions were made, seconded and passed by voice vote where recorded. Several grant and allocation details (for example, the county’s precise remaining liquid‑fuels balance and any additional township applications) were discussed and staff were directed to request more detailed cost breakdowns from Lumber Township so a full award can be considered at a later meeting.
