The commissioners approved a county code of conduct and procurement policy intended to comply with 2 C.F.R. part 200 (the federal uniform administrative requirements for awards) after the documents were distributed in advance for review.
Separately, the board approved a service agreement for HVAC services in the amount of $5,250.
The commission opened bids for Cameron County Recreation Center improvements. Two bids were read: Overdorf Mechanical (plumbing construction) at $23,500 and Moy Billy/Warrior Building with a $56,000 bid described as not covering the entire job. After discussing the submissions, the board moved to table the bids while grant and funding details are clarified.
Commissioners said tabling the bids will allow staff to align capital-improvement work with available grant dollars and to ensure procurement meets federal requirements when federal funding is involved.
