At the July 1 Scott City Council meeting, engineering firms briefed the council on a set of active public‑works projects.
Groom's Engineering reported it had received comments from the Health Department about the Desjacque/Westgate force main, a step the firm indicated is part of regulatory review and coordination for the sewer improvement project. The minutes do not reproduce the Health Department comments or indicate required changes.
Council members were told Lafayette Parish is performing an overlay on Ulinor Road; the minutes state the overlay should be complete by the next council meeting. Fenstermaker & Associates reported that clearing and grubbing for Apollo Road Phases II and III is nearly complete and that the firm presented a video showing progress.
A traffic study for LA 93 (the stretch from I‑10 to Renaud) was reported as underway and is expected to be complete by September 2021. The minutes also note that surveying work is in progress for the St. Mary Street sidewalk project.
The minutes record these as informational engineering reports; they do not record formal council direction beyond acceptance of the reports, nor do they include technical details such as budget amounts, engineering specifications, or Health Department comment text. The city will use these studies and project milestones to inform subsequent project steps and contract work.
