Scott City Council approves multiple ordinances, resolutions and fiscal‑agent contract

The council adopted Ordinance 2021‑7, an amendment to Sec. 31‑2 and Sec. 31‑6 of the Scott Municipal Code that updates commercial towing‑yard fencing requirements and enforcement. The council approved entering a contract with Home Bank to serve as the city’s fiscal agent for the period 2021–2025 and gave the mayor authority to execute the agreement. The council introduced Ordinance 2021‑10 (amendments to Sec. 24‑56 and Sec. 24‑58 of the municipal code); no discussion was recorded and the ordinance was scheduled for adoption at the next regular meeting on Aug. 5, 2021.

Finally, Resolution 2021‑23 was adopted to authorize Amendment No. 1 to an intergovernmental agreement with the Lafayette City‑Parish Consolidated Government concerning operation and maintenance of the traffic signal at Eraste Landry Road and Westgate Road. The motion was made by Councilman Boudreaux and seconded by Councilman Hollier and carried by majority vote.
