Scott council adopts two environment ordinances, accepts FY2021 financial report and authorizes ladder-truck agreement

At the Nov. 4 meeting the Scott City Council adopted two ordinances amending Chapter 14 of the municipal code. Councilman Montoucet moved to adopt Ordinance 2021-13, which the minutes describe as assigning responsibility more specifically for any violations of Chapter 14; Councilman Boudreaux seconded and the ordinance carried unanimously.
Councilman Boudreaux moved to adopt Ordinance 2021-14, which amends Chapter 14 to prohibit commercially cut yard waste from being deposited for city collection; Councilman Suire seconded and the ordinance carried unanimously.
Separately, Mr. Burton Kolder and Mr. Brad Kolder of accounting firm Kolder, Slaven & Company presented the fiscal year financial report ending June 30, 2021. Councilman Hollier motioned to approve the financial report; Councilman Montoucet seconded and the motion carried unanimously with no public comment recorded.
The council also adopted Resolution 2021-33 authorizing the mayor to execute a cooperative endeavor agreement with the City of Lafayette for the use of a Lafayette Fire Department ladder truck; the minutes state there are no costs involved. Councilman Bergeron moved the resolution, Councilman Suire seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting record shows several ordinances were introduced for consideration at the Dec. 2, 2021 meeting: Ordinance 2021-15 (juvenile curfew, with Chief Chad Leger specifying under‑18 coverage and fines), Ordinance 2021-16 (changing development advertising from 10 to 14 days), and Ordinance 2021-17 (adding water system infrastructure regulations to subdivision standards). Those items were introduced but not adopted on Nov. 4.
