Scott council approves higher millage rate tied to Lafayette Library renewal

Mr. Andrew Duhon of the Lafayette Library gave a short presentation to the council about the renewal that will appear on the upcoming election ballot. Lafayette Parish Tax Assessor Conrad Comeaux told the council the current millage rate is 4.12 mills, and the proposed rate would increase that figure to 4.47 mills.
The council's vote establishes the rate that will appear on the ballot; the millage question will be decided by voters in the scheduled election. No additional conditions or amendments to the resolution were recorded in the meeting minutes.
