Scott council approves utility relocation contracts, approves $35,000 pump station budget amendment

For the Desjacques/Westgate regional pump station, Councilman Suire moved and Councilman Bergeron seconded a $557,700 contract award to NCMC, LLC; the motion carried by majority. Councilman Boudreaux later moved to amend the budget by $35,000 to cover an overage for that pump station project; Councilman Bergeron seconded and the motion carried by majority.
Mr. Mark Savoy of Groom's Engineering told the council the additional budget request was needed because "the overage than originally budgeted is due to pricing increase since the project was quoted," explaining higher costs since the initial estimate. The council took no roll-call vote counts in the minutes beyond the notation that motions carried by majority.
The special session was noted as called to order at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 5:40 p.m. Councilman Montoucet was recorded absent. The meeting minutes were signed and filed by the mayor and the city clerk.
