Cusella told the board the program’s administrative requirements include a $15 background check for league operators and a $1 million general liability insurance policy; he said the town’s existing insurance could provide coverage provided the town is added as an additional insured. He also said a non‑NFL local flag league charges about $125 per participant and that his proposal would be more affordable for residents.
Supervisor Robert Mack and other board members did not act immediately on the request; the board agreed to forward the proposal to the Parks Manager for review and follow up. The town will examine insurance and operational details through staff before any final approval.
The petition and program details were entered into the meeting record; the board took no formal vote on the request at the March 5 meeting.
