Board appoints Olivia Blower as non-voting student trustee

The Tennessee State University Board of Trustees on June 30 appointed Olivia Blower to serve a one-year, non-voting student trustee term for fiscal 2026–27. The recommendation came from President Tucker after interviews conducted by the Student Government Affairs Association and institutional interviews with the president.
Trustees noted Blower is a rising senior, a double major in political science and urban studies, a member of the Honors College with a 4.0 GPA, and has prior internship experience in a congressional office and in Nashville's mayoral office. She was also selected as an inaugural ambassador for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation leadership institute and is participating this summer in the Junior Summer Institute at Harvard Kennedy School.
The board moved, seconded and approved the appointment by roll call.
