The presentation said roughly 35% of the project cost is covered by the Gage Park Improvement Authority discretionary fund and that additional funds will come from Gage Park sales tax receipts.
The clerk read funding figures during the presentation: $110,000 from the Improvement Authority discretionary fund and $25,436.28 from Gage Park sales tax funds with a total cost stated as $315,436.28 in the record. Commissioners did not discuss the apparent arithmetic discrepancy during the meeting and approved the contract 3-0.
Why it matters: the sign is a capital project that affects Gage Park's public-facing identity and will use a combination of discretionary authority funds and sales-tax revenue. Questions raised during the presentation included sign placement (diagonal to the 10th/Gage intersection), LED update frequency and correcting a historical founding date that staff said will be fixed in the design.
