Treasurer: Shawnee County property tax bills available online; due Dec. 22

Susan Duffy, Shawnee County treasurer, told the commission on Nov. 13 that property tax bills will be mailed next Monday and Tuesday and that taxpayers can begin paying online now at ic.ks.gov or through the Shawnee County treasurer's website.
Duffy urged residents to avoid third-party payment services that may charge extra fees and recommended using the official state portal or the county treasurer's site. "You do not need to come in the office. You can also drop it off at our dropbox or put it in the mail," she said.
Duffy said taxes are due Dec. 22 this year because Dec. 20 falls on a Saturday. She also noted continued delinquent payments — including a recent $2.2 million check that was received — and stood for questions from the commission.
The commission took no formal action on the treasurer's announcement.
