OCB to pursue marketing audit RFP after 13 RFI responses; staff to return with final draft
Summary
After receiving 13 responses to an initial request for information, OCB staff proposed issuing a formal RFP for a marketing audit to evaluate how CVB/OCB marketing dollars are being spent and to recommend reorientation of marketing efforts. Board asked staff to refine the draft and return in July.

Patrick McKeon updated the board that an earlier request for information drew 13 responses and recommended issuing a full request for proposals to conduct a marketing audit of how O'Fallon spends tourism and CVB marketing dollars.
"I think it's well justified now to proceed with the issuance of a full RFP that would then ask for what I'm terming to be a, uh, a marketing audit," Patrick said. The proposed audit would evaluate current spend, effectiveness and gaps and could include a second phase to help implement revised strategies.
Members supported the idea of getting an outside view to ensure money is spent effectively. Patrick asked for feedback on the draft RFP and said he would consult with recreation and festivals staff and return with a finalized document in July ready for issuance.
Next steps: staff will incorporate board feedback and present a final RFP draft at the July meeting.
