At the June 30 meeting the O'Fallon civic board formally accepted a signed agreement with the National Wiffle League Association to host the association's national tournament in O'Fallon.
Patrick McKeon told the board staff "went ahead and enacted with the city administrator signature" because of timing and the association's need to proceed with planning. A member moved to accept the signed agreement; Don Dietrich seconded the motion. The board approved the motion by voice vote.
Board members described the item as a previously budgeted and staff‑executed agreement that the OCB had not yet formally ratified in a public meeting. The item was handled as a closing of that gap rather than as a new financial commitment.
Next steps: staff and the city will continue to coordinate with tournament organizers on execution and marketing for the August event.
