River Ridge board approves $105,000 traffic-calming system with solar radar signs and cloud service

River Ridge Community Development District supervisors on Nov. 19 approved purchase and installation of a traffic-calming system from My AV-Tech LLC totaling $105,000.
Operations Manager Shane Willis presented an AV-Tech proposal to install three remaining 15-inch solar-powered digital speed radar signs, each with cameras and messaging, and a mobile unit. The proposal included a one-time equipment/installation cost and an annual cloud subscription fee of $1,500 per device; Mr. Long suggested the HOA could assume the cloud subscription costs and offset them from covenant traffic fines collected by PSGRC.
Mr. Long reported that one existing mobile unit recorded about 800 varied speeding violations over a three-week period and suggested moving that unit 20 to 30 yards to improve enforcement; pole purchase for the relocation was estimated at about $1,200 from Paramount Asphalt. On a motion by Bob Schultz and seconded by Kurt Blumenthal, the board approved My AV-Tech LLC Estimates 24150 and 24151 to wire and install three permanent and one mobile 15" solar-powered speed signs with cameras and messaging, plus cloud-device service, for a combined total of $105,000.
