Winter Harbor selectmen voted on routine financial business and discussed Budget Committee procedure at their Feb. 9 meeting.
The board unanimously approved the Jan. 28, 2026 minutes and accepted Warrants #37 (Feb. 3) and #38 (Feb. 5), the Treasurer’s Report (dated Feb. 6) and the Tax Collector’s Report (dated Feb. 6). The minutes record those items as approved 3-0. The Treasurer’s Report showed a Trio-General Ledger balance of $974,506.19, a six‑month certificate of deposit of $107,539.29, and bond investments listed at $2,856,455.00 (1/23/2026) and $2,868,410.00 (2/6/2026). The Tax Collector’s Report listed taxes receivable: FY26 $1,053,167.09, FY25 $13,690.19 and FY24 $4,744.63.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the board she had confirmed with legal that the Budget Committee’s quorum is seven of a 12‑member committee. Selectmen discussed whether to amend the ordinance before members are elected at Town Meeting and reviewed the committee’s plan for preparing the budget.
During the public‑comment period, Selectman S. Fortin asked that the Budget Committee provide a line‑by‑line budget breakdown. The minutes list the Schoodic EMS report as an FYI to the board; no action on that report was recorded.
The selectmen adjourned the open meeting at 6:35 p.m. The minutes also show the board met in executive session on personnel matters under 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(A) from 6:40 to 6:50 p.m., with no votes or outcomes specified in the record.
