Selectman G. Harrington called the Town of Winter Harbor Selectmen meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. on March 9. The board approved routine business by 3-0 votes, including the minutes of Feb. 9, 2026; Warrants #41 (March 3) and #42 (March 6); and acceptance of the Treasurer's and Tax Collector's reports.
The Treasurer's Report dated March 6, 2026 was accepted after the Selectmen noted and corrected a typographical error in the investment account. The report listed a Trio-General Ledger balance of $828,829.46, a six-month certificate of deposit at $107,539.29, and investment/bond market values of $2,868,410.00 and $2,864,051.00 respectively.
The Tax Collector's Report (March 6, 2026) was accepted 3-0. The town recorded taxes receivable as: FY26 $1,030,018.46; FY25 $13,690.19; FY24 $2,882.80. The Town Manager stated that all FY24 taxes had been paid ahead of the foreclosure deadline.
Selectmen appointed Polly Earl, Wayne Martin, Jean Robertson, Ruth Littlefield and Jackie Jacobs to the town Budget Committee; that motion was approved 3-0. Later in the meeting Jackie Jacobs asked whether the investment account had lost money; the minutes record the question but do not record an immediate clarification or figure.
John Harris of Harris Downeast Disposal presented a five-year pickup contract. The Selectmen voted to accept the contract as written (approved 3-0).
The minutes list payroll (P/R #41) at $16,253.42 and accounts payable (A/P #42) at $118,663.18 for a combined total of $134,916.60. The meeting record shows third-party requests on the agenda were reviewed and that representatives present were heard, but the minutes do not provide details of those requests.
The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
