The Fruitport Community Schools Board reviewed attorney-approved ballot language and outreach plans for a Nov. 4, 2025 bond proposal during its Sept. 15 meeting.
Superintendent Jason Kennedy told the board the district’s informational campaign will include an additional FOCUS newsletter mailing, display boards to be distributed to each school, vote reminder signage, videos the district plans to film, and an online public forum to be scheduled in October. The board also reviewed attorney-approved ballot language prepared for Ottawa County.
The Business & Finance Committee discussed the bond proposal during its Sept. 8 meeting and reported to the full board. Board member Josh Mueller said he had received positive feedback on the bond mailer and suggested future communications use bullet points for clarity.
No formal action or vote on the bond measure was recorded at the meeting; the board’s actions were limited to reviewing the ballot language and the outreach plan. The superintendent also noted he would be attending the Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators conference the week of Sept. 15.
Separately, during communications the superintendent informed the board the district received a Michigan Tax Tribunal petition from Pontaluna Land, LLC; the board was notified but took no formal action on that petition at the meeting.
