Byron council unanimously approves permits, contracts and personnel policy revisions; appointment made to redevelopment board

The City of Byron council approved a series of routine administrative and policy items on April 12, voting unanimously on contracts, personnel policy revisions and a board appointment.
Council voted to authorize a Permanent BMP Maintenance Agreement with Byron Power Sports, LLC covering Tax Map 054C 025A and 054C 025AB, approved the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) FY2021 contract, and adopted a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with Georgia Peach Festival, Inc. Each motion was recorded as unanimous; makers and seconders are noted in the minutes.
On personnel policies, the council revised Policy 2.2 (Equal Employment Opportunity) and Policy 7.7 (Sexual Harassment) to designate a job title rather than an individual as the point of contact; both revisions were adopted effective April 12, 2021 and will be incorporated into the personnel manual. The council also appointed Scott Hodges to serve the remainder of Mark Waters's term on the Byron Redevelopment Authority Board, term to expire Dec. 31, 2021.
