Corey Street sworn in as Louisville mayor; council appoints vice mayor and fills boards

Corey Street was sworn in as mayor of Louisville during the City Council’s organizational meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, as the council also swore in two new members and moved quickly through appointments to leadership and municipal boards.
During an oath administered at the start of the meeting, Street repeated the statutory oath to support the U.S. and Ohio constitutions and to observe the city charter. Two council members — Trisha McAlister Adkins and Guy Guidone — also took the oath of office.
The council then appointed Guy Geddes as vice mayor by motion and recorded a vote to approve the appointment; the transcript notes an abstention by one member but does not specify which member abstained. Council members congratulated Geddes after the vote.
Under boards-and-commissions business, the council appointed Eric Hahn to the Board of Appeals and Review. Hahn introduced himself as a Louisville resident, a third-generation IBEW electrician with 17 years in electrical construction and five years in office work, and said he sought the position to give back to his hometown.
The council also appointed Tristan Settler to the Planning Commission. Settler described local volunteer work, service on a parish council and a recent run for public office in which he garnered 1,840 votes, 1,040 of them from within the city; he cited those experiences and his nursing studies as preparation for serving on the commission.
Dick Slackford was nominated to fill another Planning Commission opening contingent on a current member’s resignation; Slackford recounted prior service on the planning commission and a four-year stint on council and said his managerial experience in plant engineering qualifies him for the role. The council approved the contingent appointment.
City Manager Andy Teralaski told councilors he would email an update later in the week summarizing progress on the administration’s goals and ongoing projects for the benefit of all members, particularly the two new councilors.
The mayor moved to adjourn, the motion was seconded and the meeting concluded.
