Katherine Bland, a Bowling Green University sophomore and Hicksville High School alumna, told the council she noticed damaged small-children equipment at Froggy Park and has studied inclusive playground programs. Bland asked council to explore grants and volunteer support to replace equipment; Administrator Cory Wann said he has received a "Play Time" award he can discuss with her and that community volunteers and local contacts exist to help the project.
Administrator Wann provided construction updates: the splash pad concrete pad has been poured, trim and painting on the pavilion are underway, and remaining apron, fixtures and electrical work remain to be completed. Pavilion restroom work began the prior week and new restroom partition final numbers are pending. The council also heard that an 18-basket Frisbee golf course with concrete tee boxes will be installed throughout the park this week and is expected to attract more visitors.
Separately, Wann reported a main break on Maple Street beginning about 5:30 a.m. and fixed around 4 p.m.; the affected quadrant was placed under a 72-hour boil-water advisory. Council did not take additional emergency measures at the meeting but documented the advisory and ongoing repairs.
