Hicksville council approves minutes, pays bills and clears year-end invoices

The Hicksville Village Council handled routine year-end business at its Dec. 16 meeting, approving an amended agenda and a series of motions to keep municipal operations current before year-end.
Council Member Eric Bassett moved to approve the amended minutes; Charlie Martin seconded the motion and all voted in favor. On separate motions, Bassett and Martin again moved and seconded approval of the Dec. 2 meeting minutes; Ron Beverly moved, and Rob Bailey seconded payment of the bills presented at the meeting; and Bassett moved, with Martin seconding, to pay bills still due in 2024 so departmental invoices could be paid out of the correct budget year. All motions passed unanimously.
Council formally adjourned on a motion by Bassett, seconded by Toni Egly. The meeting ended at approximately 6:30 p.m.
