The Amityville Zoning Board on Jan. 22 approved a variance to allow on‑site parking of commercial vehicles at 474 Broadway for a landscaping business owned by Rosa Zaino.
Vincenzo Zaino, speaking for the applicant, said the company operates weekdays (vehicles leave roughly 7:30–8:00 a.m. and return about 5:00 p.m.) and sometimes on Saturdays. He told the board the trucks and trailers are licensed and insured and that no hazardous materials are stored in the vehicles. No members of the public spoke against the request.
The board approved the application 5–0 (motion by Eric Taylor; second by Todd Brice). Conditions include approval for the sooner of four years or a change of ownership, that the vehicles be registered and insured and owned by the applicant or the business, and adherence to all Village, State and local codes.
The approval carries administrative conditions the applicant must meet with village staff to remain in compliance.
