Council approves rebids for pool project; parks upgrades and frisbee golf completed

The Hicksville Village Council voted to seek rebids for the village pool project and reviewed multiple parks and accessibility updates at its Sept. 3 meeting.
After discussion of an administrator email about pool grant money, Council Member Eric Bassett moved to solicit rebids for the pool project; Toni Egly seconded the motion. The recorded vote was Bassett, Egly, Charlie Martin, Ron Beverly and Kent Miller in favor; Rob Bailey voted no.
Council members also heard that a frisbee golf course has been completed and that signage is pending; volunteer Kevin Troyer is planning tournaments at the park. Pavilion restrooms were repainted, with plans to replace partitions and install LED lighting within the year; the rooftop exhaust fan has been replaced. Sidewalk replacements noted in the report included work in front of 108 North Main and ADA mat and approach replacement at West Hicks and South Main.
On the splash pad, officials noted the existing electrical service is configured as 240V/3P Delta (a high-leg configuration) and that Sixmo will work with AEP to evaluate options for a 208V/3P transformer or retrofitting the pole to provide service adequate to the splash pad and a future pool; AEP will provide design and pricing for consideration.
