The Saranac Lake Central School District Board of Education elected Mark Farmer president and Nancy Bernstein vice president during its July 1 reorganizational meeting.
Board members nominated candidates and cast paper ballots. After votes were tallied, the chair announced the results: Mark Farmer as president and Nancy Bernstein as vice president. The board clerk indicated oaths of office would be administered to new or returning board members and that oath forms for two superintendent-designated individuals, Josh and Diane, were prepared.
The leadership change takes effect immediately for board organizational purposes. The meeting record shows the board moved quickly from nominations to voting and then to procedural housekeeping, including distributing and collecting oath forms for Mike and Joe and noting the forthcoming administration of superintendent oaths.
The board will complete all oath formalities and the new leadership will preside over committee assignments and the remainder of the board’s organizational work for the 2026–27 year.
