Brooklyn Park approves liquor licenses, CIP amendment, mutual aid agreements and tree canopy grant

At its July 29 special meeting the Brooklyn Park City Council approved a series of consent and administrative items.
Notable approvals included temporary on‑sale liquor licenses for Heavy Rotation Brewing Company (Happy Hour on the Farm events Aug. 23 and Sept. 13), the Church of St. Vincent de Paul (Harvest Festival, Sept. 15), and St. Gerard’s Church (Corn Fest, Aug. 9–10). The Council waived the reading and adopted Resolution #2024‑108 to amend the 2024–2028 CIP and the 2024 budget and approved a supplemental letter of agreement with Bolton & Menk, Inc. to prepare plans and specifications for the Park Brook Elementary School Safe Routes to School infrastructure project. The Council authorized the Fire Chief to enter into mutual aid and automatic aid agreements with the Brooklyn Center Fire Department (Resolution #2024‑109); approved change orders for the 63rd Ave trail and Municipal State Aid mill and overlay project (Resolution #2024‑110); and accepted a Hennepin County Healthy Tree Canopy Grant (Resolution #2024‑111).
