Montgomery County Commission approves minutes, payroll, appropriations and appointments

At its March 3 formal session the Montgomery County Commission completed routine business items including approval of prior meeting minutes, financial registers, appropriations and appointments.
The commission voted to approve the minutes of the Feb. 17, 2026 regular meeting. The board also approved accounts payable check runs (check numbers 337158–337312 totaling $1,790,758.60 and 337313–337428 totaling $3,040,482.29), and payroll with total payroll paid reported as $2,491,375.37 (payroll checks and direct deposits plus federal deposits listed in the register). All consent-agenda motions carried unanimously.
Other routine approvals included miscellaneous appropriations to agencies and education, appropriations from designated revenue (packet lists numerous community organizations and line-item totals), and travel/training requests for county staff and commissioners. The Commission set the county levies and fees for alcohol licensing for fiscal year 2026–2027 according to the schedule submitted by the Alabama ABC Board. The Commission also approved appointments: Orlando Cannon to the Appeals and Grievances Board and Cedric Campbell to the Community Cooperative District Board.
