King City — At its June 9 meeting, the King City Council approved the consent agenda that included meeting minutes, the city check register for May 16–31, the 2026 Local Agency Biennial Notice on the conflict of interest code, a resolution for the 2026 general municipal election, an agreement with Pavement Engineering, Inc. for inspection and construction management services on the city’s 2025 CDBG Pavement Rehabilitation Project, and cancellation of the July 28 meeting.
Mayor Mike LeBarre pulled Item E to thank the King City Volunteer Fire Department and read the department’s officer roster into the record. The council then voted to confirm the volunteer department’s elected officers. The roster read and confirmed included: Chief Matthew Owens; First Assistant Chief Michael Hearne; Second Assistant Chief John Nuno; Secretary/Treasurer Mark Phillips; Chief Engineer Steve Rianda; Assistant Engineers George Young, Ty Caulk, Robert Eddington, Joseph Kerr, Mark Silveira, Izzy Silva; and Seventh Assistant Engineer Carlos Perez.
The motion to approve consent agenda items A–D and F–G was made by Councilmember Carlos Victoria and seconded by Councilmember Oscar Avalos; the motion carried with Mayor LeBarre, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos DeLeon, Councilmembers Victoria and Avalos voting aye. Councilmember Rob Cullen was absent. A separate motion by Oscar Avalos, seconded by Carlos Victoria, confirmed the volunteer fire department roster with the same vote tally.
