Brent Butzin said the RFQ seeks respondents with large‑scale experience in generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization that can produce meaningful revenue‑share opportunities. He emphasized the RFQ focuses on energy and infrastructure compatible with rail operations and said any ultimate deal would be brought to the board for approval.
Directors asked how the board would be involved in shaping permissible commercial uses. Director Jason Elliott expressed concerns about any package that relied heavily on data centers and asked that the board have policy input on component uses rather than being presented with a near‑final package. CEO Ian Choudri and staff said they would debrief the board on deal structure and bring proposals back for board consideration before financial commitments were made.
