Chicken ordinance referral fails after board receives survey showing 268 responses

VanDeWalle said the first post reached about 1,600 people and produced 195 responses; the second post reached about 948 users and produced 73 responses, for a total of 268. He cautioned the survey limited responses by IP address and cannot fully verify whether respondents live inside the village or whether a single person used multiple devices.
Trustee Deb Ehster moved to allow chickens in the village and to refer drafting of an ordinance to the Legislative Committee; the motion received no second and therefore failed. The board recorded no further action on the matter.
