Board proclaims 4-H Achievement Day; resident urges parking enforcement at County-City building

Lancaster County commissioners on Feb. 3 adopted a proclamation designating Feb. 12, 2026 as 4-H Achievement Day and heard a public comment about parking enforcement.
Karen Wobig, Lancaster County Extension Unit Leader, thanked the board for the recognition and provided an overview of 4-H programming, including embryology and STEM initiatives, and referenced the Live Cam "Lancaster County 4-H Egg Cam." Tracy Anderson and Kristin Geisert, extension educators, also thanked the board and provided statistics about 4-H participation and volunteer support.
During public comment, county resident David Workman expressed concern about parking obstruction in the County-City Building drive-through payment area, provided evidence of vehicles in violation and requested the board enforce no-parking restrictions. The board recorded the comment; no formal action on the parking issue was taken during the meeting.
The proclamation and the related consent motion were approved unanimously.
