Lancaster County awards culvert and maintenance contracts, approves asphaltic joint sealant purchase

Lancaster County commissioners on Feb. 3 approved multiple procurement actions to support road maintenance, including a culvert replacement contract and a materials purchase for roadway preventive maintenance.
County Engineer Pam Dingman recommended awarding a contract to Tim Sisco Construction LLC to convert concrete box culverts to pipe culverts for $367,099.10, noting the work is primarily in the northern portion of the County and is approximately $150,000 under the engineer’s estimate. The board approved the recommendation unanimously.
Dingman also presented a one-year contract with Maxwell Products Inc. to supply asphaltic joint sealant, with a not-to-exceed amount of $79,750. "The product is used to seal cracks in County asphalt roadways and slabs," Dingman said. She added that "aggressive preventive maintenance has reduced long-term repair costs for County taxpayers." The board approved the contract.
The meeting also recorded multiple contract renewals for excavating, grading and HVAC services under consent items; the board approved those renewals as part of its consent agenda vote.
