County awards contracts for culverts and joint sealant in north Lancaster projects

On asphalt maintenance, the board approved a contract with Maxwell Products Inc. for asphaltic joint-sealant supplies; the agenda listed a not-to-exceed figure read during the meeting as $79,750. Dingman stressed aggressive asphalt maintenance to lower long-term costs for county road slabs.
In voting, commissioners approved the procurement items on roll call. Dingman said grouping similar small structures in a package helps the county obtain competitive pricing and move multiple replacements forward more efficiently.
