Jennifer (Jen) Vote, financial unit staff for the Marquette County Department of Human Services, told the board on Feb. 2 that the county food bank served 268 households in January. She said 63 percent of those served were seniors and children, and that six households were new to the food bank in the month.
Vote said volunteer numbers have increased and that the county has begun partnering with Feeding America as its TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) commodity provider. She also reported that the financial unit is processing 2025 bills and third‑party claims and that she has been nominated to a financial policy advisory committee through WCHSA.
The report was informational; board members raised no questions about the vouchers or the food bank report during the meeting.
