County human services director cites staffing gaps, sets staff education calendar

Mandy Stanley, director of the Marquette County Department of Human Services, told the board on Feb. 2 that an offer for a Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) case manager has been accepted and recruitment is ongoing for a meal‑route driver following a retirement. She said two part‑time nurse candidates canceled interviews and that Public Health and EMS are providing interim assistance for some department needs.
Stanley said the therapist position has been reposted with several out‑of‑state applicants, and she described plans for an all‑staff meeting on information‑sharing guidance developed with Corporation Counsel. She summarized completed quarterly meetings with law enforcement and the county opioid response team.
Stanley provided a schedule of proposed monthly education topics for staff, including nutrition (March), child abuse (April), annual and financial reports (May), elder abuse awareness and power of attorney (June), realistic recovery and healthcare updates, a Veterans Affairs presentation (November) and HCHY in December. The report was informational; no board action was required.
