• Minutes approval: Councilwoman Flo Chatman moved and Councilman Mike Fuselier seconded approval of the April 6, 2026 regular meeting minutes for publication in the Teche News; the motion carried unanimously.
• Summer lifeguard employment agreement: Councilman Mike Fuselier moved and Councilwoman Janise Anthony seconded approval of a summer employment agreement for pool lifeguards contingent upon review and approval by City Attorney Allan Durand; recorded course cost is $300 with a $100 City contribution for employees who enroll in a City-approved course; the motion carried unanimously.
• Utility assistance vouchers policy: Councilman Jonas Fontenette moved and Councilman Fuselier seconded creation of a utility assistance vouchers policy that allows 60 days to receive payment from SMILE Crisis vouchers, St. Theresa Center and Catholic Charities of Acadiana for guaranteed funds; customers who pay any difference and remain current will not incur late fees; the policy will be retroactive to February 2026 and requires City Attorney review; the motion carried unanimously.
• Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Councilwoman Flo Chatman seconded by Councilwoman Carol Frederick.
