Minutes state the department applied for and "was awarded a renewed DUI Enforcement Grant from the State DOT and federal government." The minutes do not list a grant amount.
On personnel, the commission recorded that Recruit Dufresne is doing well and is expected to graduate the CT Post Academy in December 2025. The department is currently short one police officer and one dispatcher, and two officers are out on long-term worker's compensation. The minutes say testing for a police officer candidate is underway and the commission hopes to fill the dispatcher position by January 2026.
The meeting also included a brief budget update: the town implemented the MUNIS financial software for FY 25/26, but salary expenditures are not yet reflected in the system, so a fuller update will be provided next month.
In old business, the commission said it contacted the Connecticut Department of Transportation about concerns at the Elm Street at Volunteer intersection; those concerns were forwarded to the department's ADA Traffic Engineer for review.
During public input Clair Testoni (494 Litchfield Drive) urged the commission to hire more female police officers in Windsor Locks. The minutes do not indicate a direct response from commissioners or staff.
