Palmer council confirms four municipal appointments amid discussion over ZBA conflict

During discussion, several councilors raised concerns about the perception of conflict because Chuck also serves on the Planning Board. Councilors noted that while some ZBA decisions may relate to Planning Board actions, the current membership already included only one member who also sits on the Planning Board and that vacancies and difficulty recruiting volunteers limited options for alternative candidates. One councilor suggested re-advertising the vacancy before making a permanent appointment; others said the town had received only the applications on file.
After discussion, the council approved the appointment of Norman Chuck by recorded vote (four in favor, zero opposed, no abstentions recorded in the transcript).
