The Tolland Conservation Commission unanimously granted an extension on March 26 for Amanda Cernitz to submit a final restoration plan after vegetation was cleared without prior approval at 0 Otter Pond Trail, Lot 17.
The commission’s Order of Enforcement, dated Jan. 29, 2026, remains in effect. At the Zoom meeting, commissioners heard a preliminary proposal from Cernitz and noted that straw waddles have been installed as interim erosion controls. The commission set a deadline of April 23 for the final plan, which must specify the placement, size and type of plants to be used in the restoration.
Commission members present were Les Cohn (chair), Valerie Bird and Nichol Magni. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the extension to allow the property owner time to submit the detailed planting plan and related materials.
The commission did not adopt any additional enforcement measures at the meeting; it recorded the installation of erosion controls and required the final plan by the April deadline. The commission will review the submission at a future meeting.
