Trustees approve digital agenda packets and city iPad rollout for meetings

The Palm Springs Public Library Board of Trustees voted July 1 to adopt a digital agenda packet system and to use city-provided iPads for in-meeting viewing and voting.
Staff described the shift to a platform called OneMeeting and recommended emailing board members a link to the online packet instead of attaching PDFs. The system will allow staff to update materials up to the last minute and provide a single in-meeting view on city-issued iPads.
Trustees discussed logistics and training; staff said the city will provide iPads and that trustees will receive training before the system goes live. A trustee noted that members may still print packets if they prefer. Gary Brackett moved to accept the recommendation and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff indicated a phased rollout and said the city clerk’s office will manage device checkout and training. No implementation date was confirmed at the meeting.
