New Hillman park manager recommends speed bumps; council approves trial purchase

After discussion of options and pricing, the council approved purchasing two unmounted speed bumps at $145 each (plus tax and shipping) as a trial to see whether they reduce speeds; the council will evaluate performance before deciding on mounting kits or additional units. The motion was moved by President Hornbacher and supported by Trustee Steve Orlandi; it passed unanimously.
Also at the meeting, Judy Nichols invited council members to Brush Creek Mill's 20th‑anniversary ceremony on June 26 and asked DPW to inspect exterior lights; Emma Niswonger reported BS&A trainers will be on site this week and next for staff training. The meeting adjourned after these reports.
The trial purchase is intended as a low‑cost first step; implementation and follow‑up will be handled by Parks and DPW staff.
